Carlos Villagran Eslava is a famou Mexican actor. Born in January 12,1944, in a poor mexican village in Mexico City, DC. He was a professional photographer for a well know newspaper in Mexico. His dream was to be a comedian or a football player. Invited by Rubén Aguierre, he left photography at the age of 23 and began to portray Kiko in Chaves on the show, and aready played the character in his plays.

After the great success, Carlos Villagran left the program “Chaves” and “Chapolin” in late 1978, because of problems with copyright of the character. So he moved to Venezuela, where he had a program without success. He returned to Mexico with a new program: “Ah, qué Kiko!”. It lasted a short time because of the death of his partner Ramon Valdés, in August, 1988.In August, 2010, Villagran announced his retirement from the stage and would not portray Kiko anymore.
Carlos Villagran is the father of six children: Paulo, Sylvia, Samantha, Edson, Gustavo e Vanesa.
Currently, he dedicates his life to his own business “El circo de Kiko”, which has performed throughout.
